A curved wooden cube that has an embedded light source projects impressive motifs on the surrounding walls. The art piece is titled “Intersections” and it’s created by mixed media artist Anila Quayyum Agha. The cube is consisted of 5 large laser-cut wooden panels while the shadows created are inspired by the geometrical patterns found in Islamic sacred spaces.
The mixed media artist states: “With this large scale patterned wood project I explored intersections of culture and religion, the dynamics and interpretation of space and sight as it threaded through cultures and emerged as varied expressions that redefine themselves with the passage of time.”
