Halcyon Selects: Lemonade – Neptune

Lemonade is one more great Brooklyn-based band that released its debut self-titled album in 2008 exploring garage, jungle and neo-soul sounds. Two years later came the release of their second one titled “Pure Moods”, while on May 29 a new album is due out via True Panther Sounds under the title “Drive”. The band informs us that this time they’ve been influenced by everything from the melodies of early 90’s R&B, UK 2-step Garage, Belearic house and NY freestyle to 80’s pop-rock nostalgia, wispy new age, boy-band innocence and synth-driven Euro-trance. First official single is “Neptune” which was released last March gaining very good reviews thanks to its new age-referencing sound and beautiful melody.  A NSFW music video for the song, directed by House Parts and Weird Days, was published yesterday on Pitchfork, in addition to their announcement for the dates of their UK and USA Tour.
