Halcyon Selects: Nite Jewel – One Second Of Love

Nite Jewel (Ramona Gonzalez) released her debut LP “Good Evening” back in 2008 making already a mark among the avant pop underground. Today, 4 years later, she introduces us to her next full-length release developing her sound into something new. As far as one can judge listening the title track “One Second Of Love”, Nite Jewel is now into a more funk-oriented synth pop sound, with vocals reminding us of Tracey Thorn and Annie Lenox, while a certain dark glamor feeling also describes the song. In its weird music video, that was published just yesterday through Secretly Jag, we can watch a Real Housewives-style dinner party, some choreographed dance routine made by a pagan religious sect that suddenly invades the house, a goat-masked demon priest, a drag queen and Nite Jewel playing a double role in it. The LP “One Second Of Love” is due out on March 6 via Secretly Canadian.
