Halcyon Selects: Rosemary – Sleep Alone

During the darkest and most macabre day of the year, our mood for today couldn’t be much different. Rosemary is a nu-disco duo, consisting of Sahar Pour and Lasse Martinussen, who released a debut EP titled “A Persian Tale” on December 2011. Having The Golden Filter as their main supporters, A Persian Tale managed to make a success into a small but quite eclectic audience thanks to their eccentric aesthetics and sound, remaining a well-kept secret so far. Rosemary successfully combines the avant garde influences of Iranian Sahar with the genuine scandinavian pop of Danish Lesse, creating a very unique sound. First official single is “Sleep Alone”, a song which strongly imposes you into its underground atmosphere with dark synths and haunty -almost scary- vocals by Sahar. The direction of the video clip was made by Lasse himself, who is also a very talented director as you can note by watching a mini film he prepared for A Persian Tale’s promotion. Even though we still don’t have any news about a release of a full-length this year, you can still download their EP for free here.
