The New York based, non-profit arts & culture organization BOFFO in collaboration with Spilios Giannakopoulos, one of OZON’s contributors, presents the 2nd Annual BOFFO Building Fashion, a design celebration which combines the works of fashion designer and architects. The idea behind this event is to showcase fashion designers’ work with a series of temporary retail installations giving them the opportunity to work with architects and display their work in their first free standing retail environment.
The fashion designers that participate in the event are: Creative Director for Mugler ,Nicola Formichetti, top selling young American jewelry designer Irene Neuwirth, the 2011 CFDA Best Menswear Designer Nominee Patrik Ervell, The Lake and Stars, the 2011 Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Award for Womenswear and finally the 2009 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists Ohne Titel.
To pair the above innovative fashion designers with architects, BOFFO in partnership with -the open architects’ community- Architizer, conduct a worldwide competition which has already started since May 19th and ends on July 4th. Architects are asked to submit design proposals expressing their vision of a retail space for their fashion designer of choice. Winning architects are awarded with $20,000 to build and install their installation. You can register or learn more about the competition here.
The 2nd Annual BOFFO Building Fashion will take place at 57 Walker Street in Tribeca,NY.
