Rick Owens Opens a Theatrical Flagship Store in LA

Having established a name in Europe and having lived in Paris for twelve years, Rick Owens returns to Los Angeles where he opens his first theatrical store.

The store is newly added to the others in Paris, London, New York and Miami and is a former ribbon factory that was built in 1920 and located in La Brea, just along the block from “The Plaza Salon Bar”- a Mexican bar where Owens had the best parties 20 years ago.

Architect Anna Tumaini is the same one who has created the private apartments of Owens in Venice and Concordia. Theatrical in its execution, the space is a tribute to American director Cecil B. DeMille. The store includes a glass tank with water that reaches up to the ceiling and every five minutes releases bubbles and fog.
