Valentino Fall 2014: The apt revolution

VAL_0185.450x675

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli showcased an amazing Couture show inspired by Italian opera and Pop art from the sixties and seventies and famous Italian women artists. We distinguished the amazing and bold optic florals, tulle dresses, the shirt-collar dresses, chunky cardigans, leather patchworks, the lacy details, the embroideries,  the silk crepes as well as the double-face cashmere and the harlequin patterns. The designs were more focused on luxurious eveningwear, and did not embrace the ready-to-wear philosophy. Valentino is Valentino, though, very Haute Couture oriented as always. You either love him or hate him. Either way, it was a great collection.
