Taiwanese photographer Will Ho was extremely lucky while spending his vacation in the Maldives Islands, since he came across an impressive psychical phenomenon. Millions of tiny organisms of bioluminescent phytoplankton transformed the shores into a glowing sky of stars. The phytoplankton scientifically named Lingulodinium polyedrum, which reminds us of fireflies, emits light in response to stress or intense activity. For example, when a wave crashes onto the shore, a surfboard slashes through the surface or when -as seen in the pictures below- a foot steps on the full of phytoplankton sand.
