Frank Horvat A Trip Through A Mind (The iPad Exhibition)

The work of acclaimed photographer Frank Horvat is exhibited at the the Galerie Hiltawsky in Berlin. The exhibition will showcase a selection of images from twelve different series and visitors can also use the first version of Horvatland, an iPad application which was released in 2011. The application includes two thousand photographs that cover 65 years of Horvat’s career, from 1945 until today along with interviews and various texts that suggests a new way of communicating and sharing.

Frank Horvat was born in 1928 in Abbazia and moved to Milan in 1947 to study art, at the Accademia di Brera. A few years later he met acclaimed photographers Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Capa. He moves to London to work for LIFE and Picture Post but then moves to Paris where he becomes a fashion photographer for magazines like Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and more while being part of Magnum as an associate photographer. He has also worked in fashion and advertising photography in Europe and USA and in 1989 he began experimenting with digital imaging. Throughout the years Frank Horvat has also published 27 books.
