A couple of days ago, we presented you the first part of the top 10 villains. Now it’s about time we got to the best of the best. The Top-10!
#10. Jack Torrance, “The Shining”Jack Torrance falls in madness in Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining”, a film that noone can forget. The twins, the labyrinth, the whole setting of the hotel just make Jack Nicholson look even better, as a villain!
#9. The Queen, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”“Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the evilest of them all?”
A Disney character makes it to our list. Either as the evil crowned, or the old wench, this woman is so cruel. She even wanted poor Snow White’s heart in a box. We’d call that creepy!
#8. Amon Goeth, “Schindler’s List”
Α Nazi lieutenant, real-life murderer and war criminal. Enough said!
#7. Mr. Potter, “It’s a Wonderful Life”
There are some villains you love. There are others you hate. And Mr. Potter is the kind everyone hates. Or loves when it comes to express your hate towards someone. And there are only a few of that kind. Good job Lionel Barrymore!
#6. Professor Severus Snape, “Harry Potter”
Everyone has Voldemort as the ultimate villain, who wants to kill Harry Potter. But there has been not a single movie in which Professor Snape didn’t try to harm his student. Even though he turns into a good guy in the end, the first years of his cruelty towards Harry are hard to be forgotten.
#5. Norman Bates, “Psycho”
A movie that made history. And a villain that made it to the top 5. Anthony Perkins taught us that maybe we should not trust the boy-next-door, because he might just be pretending he is his mother.
#4. The Wicked Witch of the West, “The Wizard of Oz”
THE witch. She wants to harm utterly cute Dorothy. Who would like to do that? Only THE witch. Actress Margaret Hamilton portrays one of the most recognizable faces in the movies ever.
#3. Darth Vader, “Star Wars”
Actor Dave Prowse was offered either the role of Darth Vader or Chembacca. And we can’t picture him being some other than Darth Vader to be honest. He has turned into an icon, symbol and unforgettable figures of the world. And eve though it’s not Dave Prowse’s voice saying “I’m your Father”, but James Earl’s Jones, it’s Dave Prowse the one who gave life to our no.3 villain.
#2. Hannibal Lecter, “The Silence of the Lambs”
Hannibal Lecter is perfect: brains and insanity. He is trying to help an FBI agent, but he eats people. Anthony Hopkins even won an Oscar for his performance, as everything he said was horrifying, and made Buffalo Bill look nice and amateur. Even though he made it to place #17.
#1. The Joker, “The Dark Knight”
The ultimate. The best one. Heath Ledger mastered his craft and he won posthumous the Oscar for his performance. He even reinvented the Joker. The Joker was no longer Jack Nicholson, but Heath Ledger was The Joker. The villain everyone loves, but nobody hates.
