The new solo album from Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst is now available to stream online. The album, entitled Ruminations, is due to be released on 14th October 2016 via Nonesuch. It is available in its entirety for early listening here.

Oberst is renowned for his work under the Bright Eyes moniker which features fellow collaborators Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott. However, Oberst has also performed with punk rock group Deseparecidos and super group Monsters of Folk in addition to releasing two albums under his own name with the Mystic Valley Band.

The new album employs a stripped down approach to production, with all ten songs recorded in forty-eight hours in a studio in Oberst’s hometown, Nebraska. Ruminations is predominantly single track solo songs on acoustic guitar, harmonica and piano, with the bare bones production bringing Oberst’s lyricism into the spotlight. This is a raw, reflective record with an obvious bleakness pervading the subject matter.

Oberst will be touring the record early throughout Europe in January and February 2017.
