Since June, news of Louis Vuitton new project, Icon and Iconoclasts, for the French house’s 160th anniversary, were revealed back in June. Six faces, representing multiple design and fashion disciplines, were invited to reinterprete the monogram bag-symbol of the house. The guest designers are Karl Lagerfeld, Rei Kawakubo, Frank Gehry, Christian Louboutin, Cindy Sherman and Marc Newson.
The products of this collaboration were photographed by Karl Lagerfeld, for a Harper’s Bazaar editorial. The 6 designers present different versions of the renowned bag, they sometimes question the meaning of the common bag. Photos of the guest designers, alongside their designs, preceed.
The new bags will be available at selected Louis Vuiton stores, from mid October.
