Visit YSL’s Atelier!

Great news for all Yves Saint Laurent‘s fans! They will be able to visit the last place in which the famous designer used to create his amazing haute couture clothes in a museum in Paris.

Staged by the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation, which owns and protects the designer’s archive, this new place will be located in Paris at 5 Avenue Marceau in which lots of his rare creations will be presented for the first time. The only designer of his era who used to organise and archive his creations, Ysl had gathered an amazing collection of his total work during his life. Including original sketches, prototypes, warehouse records, more than 5.000 haute couture garments and 15.000 accessories, this exhibition space give the opportunity to all Ysl‘s fans to learn much more things about their favourite designer who created his label 40 years ago.

At the same time,  the  Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation will locate a similar museum in Marrakech, a city that Ysl loved and was one of his sources of inspiration for his work. This building will include a permanent exhibition of his work and other temporary exhibitions, an auditorium, a research library , a cafe and also, a restaurant. “When Yves Saint Laurent discovered Marrakech in 1966, he was so moved by the place that he decided to buy a house and regularly go back there. It feels perfectly natural, fifty years later, to build a museum dedicated to his oeuvre, which was so inspired by this country. As for Paris, who needs to specify that it is where Yves Saint Laurent created all his work and built his career?” Pierre Berge mentioned.
