Minsk, Belarus is among the world’s coldest capitals, where the temperature reaches up to -40C. The photographic journey of Alex Ugalnikov, however, overturned this image of winter.
Winter mornings in Ugalnikov’s Belarus are pink and blue due to its frozen landscapes bathed in sunrise light. The fog and the reflections of the trees resemble a painting. His photos are ethereal, warm – even though it is winter, sensuous, they are not restricted to geographic boundaries and cannot help impressing us with the simplicity of their frame.
Who said that winter is not a beautiful season?
