Barcelona hosts from today, 24 and until 27 of January, at CaixaForum, the first-ever spanish edition of A Shaded View On Fashion Film (ASVOFF), created By visionary, Diane Pernet. A Shaded View on Fashion Film (ASVOFF) is an event that gathers together celebrated personalities from the worlds of fashion, art and cinema. During four days, ASVOFF Barcelona plays host to the best short films, in which the new creative tendencies in fashion will be revealed and explored. In addition, the ASVOFF Barcelona four-day program presents a ‘carte blanche’ to Charo Mora as well as curated themed screenings, conferen- ces and debates with industry professionals.

For the last four years, the festival has been based at Centre Pompidou in Paris, followed by satellite screenings in cultural capitals around the world such as New York, Milan and Tokyo. Now ASVOFF lands in Barcelona, a host- city chosen from among a number of other can- didates. ASVOFF Barcelona is proud to launch three competitions of its own: OFFICIAL, STUDENTS and MOBILE FASHION FILM. Thanks to the collaboration of Barcelona’s city council, ASVOFF Barcelona is able to present the world’s first mobile phone fashion film competition.. The students’ competitions will run in conjunction with notable fashion design, film, and art schools throughout the world.

ASVOFF Barcelona includes a “BEST OF” series curated by Diane Pernet, presenting films from ASVOFF’s previous four editions and a competition section made up of three categories: OFFICIAL, STUDENTS and MOBILE FASHION FILM. These three categories will be judged by an esteemed international group of film critics, actors, curators, creative directors, fashion designers, editors, journalists and photographers, making up the ASVOFF Barcelona jury, deciding for the prizes.
