Sonar is the festival of advanced music and multimedia art that takes place at various venues in Barcelona (Spain) in the third week of June since 1994. Α pioneering festival that is unique in terms of its format and content as it is a leading international benchmark thanks to a carefully assembled range of culture that combines entertainment with artistry, the avant garde and experimentation, featuring the most consolidated artists and trends in electronic music and their interactions and with other genres. Sonar brings the philosophy of the Barcelona festival to Sao Paulo in a format that includes all the features that have made Sonar an international touchstone, combining showcases for new talent and experimentation with great shows and the audiovisual productions by key names on the international electronic scene. Over 2 days, Sonar Sao Paulo 2012 will present more than 50 activities featuring advanced music and new media art including concerts, DJ sets, audiovisual performances and professional activities from a variety of important artists: Björk, Justice, Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto, James Blake, Four Tet, Modeselektor, Little Dragon, Emicida, The Twelves, Psilosamples, Dago, Bruno Belluomini and many others. SonarSound Tokyo 2012, the Japanese version of the Sonar Festival, will take place on April 21 and 22, 2012 in ageHa-Studio Coast.
