With razor precision and undoubted patience, New York-based artist Karen O’Leary created a deftly cutting map of New York, very different from the classic touristic maps, an exchange of negative and positive space. Negative space demarcates land and water, while meandering grids of paper represent streets, creating complicated nets.
After finishing New York she also made a map cut for Paris an London.
