Alexander Wang is officially over for Balenciaga. But what comes next for the Parisian house?

Every time a fashion designer is leaving a house, rumors of who will be their successor emerge, and they are pretty intense each time, given the fact, that a domino of changes will be following. The New York Times present the three favorites for Alexander Wang’s Balenciaga position.

#1. Julien Dossena
He has already worked for Balenciaga, under the guidance of Nicolas Ghesquière. The 32-year-old French designer is considered the man behind Paco Rabanne’s revival, where he has been the head designer over the past two years. Moreover, his last collection was his top one of the four he has presented so far. Maybe it’s about time he got back!julien dossena

#2. Bouchra Jarrar
Also connected to Ghesquière, Bouchra Jarrar is what someone would call his protege. The 44-year-old French, of Moroccan ancestry, started working next to Jean Paul Gaultier, while since 1996 to 2006, she was next to Ghesquière, in Balenciaga. After spending some time in Christian Lacroix, she founded her own brand in 2010.

#3. Chitose Abe
She is the only nominee not to have history with the house. Chitose Abe has worked for Comme des Garçons and Junya Watanabe, while whe created her own brand, Sacai, in 1998. Her fans are the top of the industry: Sarah Mower, Suzy Menkes, Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld. At first sight, she is the outsider. But she could definitely be the one!
